Dave MyersSeptember 1957February 2024David James Myers (8 September 1957 – 28 February 2024) was an English television presenter, best known as one half of the Hairy Bikers, along with Si King. He was also known for his appearances on the BBC celebrity talent show Strictly Come Dancing. Together, Myers and King presented a multitude of television cookery series for the BBC. They also launched their own product called The Hairy Bikers Diet Club. Myers and Si King first appeared on the BBC's show The Hairy Bikers' Cookbook. The programme presented a mixture of cookery and travelogue, using a similar style to chef Keith Floyd, including the habit of frequently referring to the cameraman and other crew. Most shows featured the pair riding motorbikes, including the BMW R1200GS, F650GS[5][6] and Triumph Rocket III. The show also featured elements of the Two Fat Ladies format, including regular banter between the two stars, use of various unusual cooking locations and the use of motorbikes. On 24 August 2009, they hosted a 30-part daytime series for BBC Two, The Hairy Bikers' Food Tour of Britain, which aired on weekdays. While at university, he was actively involved in the Edinburgh University Theatre Company and The Improverts.[3] MacIntosh's big break in television came when he was cast as deadpan accountant Keith Bishop in The Office. He has also appeared on various shows such as Miranda and Little Britain. He formed a double act with Tim FitzHigham and they performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2007. In 2009, be appeared alongside several other celebrities in a charity music video for the Chris Rea song "Driving Home for Christmas". In 2010, he had a cameo role in the controversial "A Serbian Film" appearing in stock footage alongside The Office co-star Mackenzie Crook.[4] In early 2013, he prepared to play at a new West End show Geek! Geoff Hinsliff1937September 2024Geoffrey Hinsliff (1937 – September 2024) was an English actor best known for his portrayal of Don Brennan in Coronation Street from 1987 to 1997.[1] He had previously played other characters in the same programme, in 1963 and 1977. Shaw began her singing career in the 1960s and continued to perform until her death. Her music has often been sampled in hip hop music, and used in television commercials. Shaw died on January 19, 2024, at the age of 81.[1] Shaw began to make singing appearances in jazz clubs whenever she could spare the time. The most notable of these appearances was in 1963 when she worked with jazz trumpeter Howard McGhee. She was supposed to play at the Newport Jazz Festival with McGhee and his band, but left the group after getting into an argument with one of the band members. Later that year, she got an audition with Columbia label talent scout John Hammond. Shaw did not perform well during the audition because she was too nervous. Undeterred, she continued to play small clubs until 1966. Her career took off in 1966 when she landed a gig with the Playboy Club chain in Chicago. It was through this gig that she met with representatives of the Chess Records music label, and soon signed with them. She released her first two albums on their subsidiary Cadet Records. A 1969 album track "California Soul", a funk-soul tune written by Ashford & Simpson and originally issued as a single by American pop quintet The 5th Dimension, later became a staple of the UK rare groove scene. This song has appeared in television commercials for Dockers, KFC[3] and Dodge Ram trucks.[4] Unable to find her own style at Chess, she moved to the jazz-oriented Blue Note Records in 1972.
