He was best known for leading the band World Party and for his mid-1980s stint in the Waterboys. Wallinger's songwriting credits include the World Party songs "Ship of Fools", which was a Top 40 hit in the United States, "Way Down Now", which reached number one on the Billboard Modern Rock chart, and "She's the One", which was later covered by Robbie Williams and became a hit single.[1] Wallinger was a multi-instrumentalist, which enabled him to demo and record the bulk of World Party material as a one-man band.     Michael CulverJune 1938March 2024Michael John Edward Culver was born on 16 June 1938 in Hampstead, London, the son of actor Roland Culver and casting director Daphne Rye.[2] He was educated at Gresham's School. Culver died on 27 February 2024, at the age of 85.[3] Culver was twice married. In 1962, he married actress Lucinda Curtis and divorced in 1986. He married sculptor Amanda Ward in 2004.[3] Actor Culver's aunt, father, mother and brother all had theatrical careers. Culver gained experience at the Old Vic, Dundee Rep (performing in 35 plays in 2 years) and London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.[3] Culver appeared in several television series in recurring roles, as Squire Armstrong in The Adventures of Black Beauty (1972–74), Major Erwin Brandt in the BBC drama Secret Army (1977–78), crooked banker Ralph Saroyan in the second series of The House of Eliott (1992) and the strict Prior Robert ('Brother Prior') in Cadfael (1994–98). His guest roles included an episode of The Sweeney as Dave Leeford (episode Money, Money, Money; 1978), The Professionals (1982) as Lawson, Miss Marple "The Moving Finger" (1985) as Edward Symmington and as Sir Reginald Musgrave, in the episode "The Musgrave Ritual" (1986) in the Granada Television series The Return of Sherlock Holmes. He lived in California for nearly 3 years and he fell in love with it, It changed him for the better and i will always feel a connection with him there. He is missed by many and its still hard to think we will not see him again. There is so much more i could say but all i can say for now is, Dan we love you and miss you and lots of lives will never be the same again without you. We will carry on in your honour. Everything we did we did together, we struggled together and we succeeded together but the one thing that never changed is we were together through everything. We would bicker like brothers at times but I suppose that’s what happens when you live under the same roof for over 3 years. We always brought out the best of each other, Dan would put me in my place when I needed it and he would pick me up when I was down and I am grateful I was able to do the same. We lived a very fast life and done things you wouldn’t even imagine, one of my favorite memories with dan is spending New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas, place was like a second home to us, we’d never leave if we had the choice. He would always tell every American person he met he was from hogwarts which always made me laugh. Dans has people all over the world, from the USA to England and every person he came in contact with seemed to instantly get drawn to him. Dans memory lives on in all of us all of and will live forever, I will live life for you, achieve everything we set out to achieve and know your with me every step of the way. I love you brother and I’m grateful for the time I got to spend with you, one of kind, fly high Dan, until we meet again. Reading by Darren Chaplin Ive been best friends with Dan for around 17 years we grew up together and have been through so many life experiences together from bikes, cars, girls and money, we have done it all, no matter where Dan went he always lightened up the room and alwasy enjoyed making people laugh, i'm gonna miss our crazy late night dancing and all the laughs we have had, we used to have sleep overs as kids to then later live in America together i just wish we had more time. My favorite memory of Dan is just us being silly and stupid we were always laughing and it just seemed like nothing matttered when we were.
